Carroll County Antique Tractor & Machinery Club show Sept. 4

By CINDY LADAGE
Illinois Correspondent

FLORA, Ind. — Looking for a chance to see some antique machinery at work? Shawn Ashby of the Carroll County Antique Tractor and Machinery Club invites you to a free field day Sept. 4 at Blaine Brubaker’s house, located at 295 W. 100N in Flora.

What will visitors see at this annual event? Just about everything. This talented group has demonstrations of an array of equipment.

“We will be running a threshing machine, stationary baler, silage chopper, silage blower, corn picker (mounted and pull type),” Ashby said.

That is just the beginning. They will also have demonstrations with a corn binder, corn shredder, corn sheller, wagon with various corn burr mills and shellers mounted on it. Ashby added there will also be a round tube elevator, flight elevator, disk, plow, rock crusher “and whatever else shows up.”

Everyone is invited to this one-day event. “We will run everything once in the morning around 10 a.m. and about 1 p.m., after lunch,” he said. “It should be a full day.”

The rain date is Sept. 6. Check the club website for further updates on activities or weather, at www.perfective.com/ ccatmc
