Plows with salt spreaders
up for bid Feb. 7 in Ohio

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Approximately 70 vehicles will be up for bid at the State of Ohio surplus auction Saturday, Feb. 7. 
The auction will be at the Ohio Department of Administrative Services, General Services Division headquarters, 4200 Surface Road, Columbus. The gates open at 8 a.m., and the auction begins at 10 a.m. The lot will remain open until 5 p.m. on the day of the sale.
The auction features two trucks with plows and salt spreaders and a 2001 Freightliner Winnebago RV as well as a selection of cars, SUVs, vans and trucks. To view all of the items, visit www.dasapps.ohio.gov/Surplus/nextauction.asp
Vehicles may be inspected between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day through Feb. 6. Vehicles may be started between 8 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6.
All vehicles are sold “as-is” with no warranties. All vehicles must be paid for in full the day of the auction. Cash, credit and debit cards (Discover, MasterCard and Visa) are accepted. There is a 3 percent service fee on all credit and debit card transactions. Thirty-day temporary tags will be available for purchase on site the day of the auction for $18 cash.

Machinery for farming
sold at Ohio auction

UPPER SANDUSKY, Ohio — WMS Marketing Services conducted a sale of farm machinery and implements Dec. 11, 2014, on behalf of Lewis Walton.
Among the sales made was a 1997 Case IH 8940 with 1,260 hours for $80,000; a 1996 Case IH 7250 with 5,450 hours, $63,000; an IH 1466 Turbo for $5,750; and a Case IH 2388 combine, $46,000.

Indiana farm acreage
sells for $12,000 per acre

An 80-acre farm property in Jay County, Ind., was sold by Mel Smitley’s Real Estate & Auctioneering to a party who attended an Oct. 26, 2014, auction.  
About 60 people attended the auction for the property of Jeff and Agnes Smith on County Road 100 N, described as having 71 tillable acres, which are tiled every 40 feet. Smitley said the land didn’t sell that evening, but there was interest generated that later led to a deal. The land sold for $12,000 per acre.  For details, call 260-726-6215 or 260-726-0541.
