Indiana State Fair now accepting online entries

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – A new online system for entering competitive exhibits at the Indiana State Fair is now available. Exhibitor’s Corner went live March 17 and is accepting entries for the 2015 Indiana State Fair Year of the Farmer presented by Dow AgroSciences. 
Exhibitor’s Corner at https://exhibitorscorner.indianastatefair.com is a custom application that, for the first time, will allow exhibitors to enter nearly every competition at the Indiana State Fair online. Exhibitor’s Corner offers competitors the opportunity to enter multiple exhibits in all 4-H and/or Open Class competitions. Additionally, exhibitors can enter contests in Agriculture & Horticulture, Home and Family Arts, the Brewer’s Cup, and more. In an effort to streamline the process, this new platform offers easy registration and customer accounts, improving the overall customer experience. 
Another new feature includes “early bird” registration, providing the lowest entry fees for those who sign up early. The Indiana State Fair is Aug. 7-23 and advance discount tickets are available online for $8 per ticket, the gate admission is $12. Parking passes and discounted midway wristbands will also be available online soon. For more information please visit www.indianastatefair.com
Junior Holstein group gears up for show season
KOKOMO, Ind. — The Indiana Junior Holstein Assoc. is gearing up for summer competitions at the state and national level. At its annual meeting in January, the group elected officers and made plans for activities. On March 21, 18 members and two advisors met in Kokomo to plan. 
Members learned the Indiana Junior State Show will be June 11 and the Open Show will be June 13, both at the Wayne County Fairgrounds in Richmond, Ind. Lynn Lee will be judging the Junior Show with Keith Topp as the backup judge. 
The 2015 National Convention will be June 23-26 at Pheasant Run in St. Charles, Ill. Members were encouraged to participate in Dairy Jeopardy, Prepared Public Speaking, Folding Display and State Scrapbook. 
The 2015 Indiana State Fair 4-H Holstein Show is at 8 a.m. Aug. 16, and the Open Show will be Aug. 19.
