Indiana State Fairgrounds welcomes auto fans year-round

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Race fans have more than the Speedway to get excited about. The Indiana State Fairgrounds has a few events planned well into the summer for motor sport fans and auto enthusiasts.

In its second year at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, Goodguys 2nd Indy National event will be held June 5-7 and will take over the entire fairgrounds. This event features 2,500 custom hot rods, vintage drag racing and a demolition derby. General admission is $14 for advance purchase or $17 at the gate.

The grounds brings fans high-speed on two wheels with the Indy Mile AMA Pro Flat Track Grand Nationals July 11. The Indy Mile, part of the American Motorcycle Assoc.’s Pro racing series, features motorcyclists from all over the country racing at speeds over 120 mph.

Practice and qualifying will take place at 2:30 p.m.; opening ceremonies are 6:30 p.m., with the finals scheduled for 9 p.m. General admission is $21 and reserved seating is available.

Fun doesn’t end once summer is over. The 34th annual O’Reilly Auto Parts 4-Wheel Jamboree Nationals kicks off Sept. 18-20, when the Indiana State Fairgrounds will crawl with more than 4,500 trucks and jeeps for a weekend of 4x4 fun the entire family.

Tickets are available online at a discounted price of $17 and $20 at the game for adults; children (3-12) are $10.
