John Deere goes for $68,000 at Indiana auction

OTTERBEIN, Ind. — On Feb. 23, Garrelts Auction Co. sold a John Deere 4960 MFWD tractor on behalf of its owner, Mike Peters of Otterbein.

The tractor, which sold for $68,000, was in excellent condition with a history of only two owners. It had 3,208 hours of service on it.

Three Kentucky tracts sell to local farmers for $965,030

MCLEAN COUNTY, Ky. — Three non-contiguous but close proximity tracts totaling 166.83 acres sold at auction for $965,030, or an average of $5,785 per acre.

A 103-acre gently rolling to flat cropland tract with blacktop frontage and a 46.5-acre flat cropland tract with 30-foot easement acres each sold for $6,200 per acre. A 17.3-acre wooded and open land tract sold for $2,200 per acre. The coal, oil, gas, and mineral rights were reserved. Area farmers were buyers of all these tracts.

Halderman Real Estate sells 2,350 acres at absolute auction

WABASH, Ind. — The Warrick County 4-H Center came alive when the Halderman Real Estate auction crew arrived in Boonville ready to sell 2,350 crop acres, a commercial building, improved pastures, and a farm headquarters.

The farm was divided into 26 tracts and was sold using an absolute auction. The competitive bidding was creative, with potential buyers using multiple combinations to achieve their goals. The auction continued for several hours and ended with 10 buyers purchasing the tract or combination of tracts they desired.

The total sales price was $11,255,000.
