New auction company specializes in ranch and farmland 

FORT WORTH, Texas — Two leaders in the rural real estate and property auction industries have teamed up to form a new company focused solely on ranch and farmland auctions.

Auctioneers sell two Kentucky properties for over $1.5 million

HENDERSON COUNTY, Ky. — Kurtz Auction & Realty recently conducted two auctions in Kentucky for combined sales of more than $1.5 million.

In Henderson County, 160.61 acres of rolling crop and pasture land sold at absolute auction for $795,544, or $4,953 per acre. There were several buildings with varying degrees of contributory value – two older Harvester silos, two gain bins, and an office/shop, to mention a few.

A 16-acre and 26-acre tracts sold for $5,050 per acre. A 32.9-acre tract sold for $4,800 per acre and an 81.71-acre tract sold for $4,400 per acre. Two of the buyers were out-of-state, with the rest being local.

 In Daviess County, a gently rolling 143.1-acre farm sold at auction in two tracts for a total of $733,975, or $5,129 per acre. It had 94 acres of gently rolling cropland with Belknap and Hosmer silt loam soils.

The balance of this farm, 49 acres, was wooded land that was leased for hunting at $2,318 per year. Improvements included an older two-bedroom, one-bath home and three older tobacco and stock barns.

Auctioneer raises more than $136K from equipment, vehicles

SCOTT COUNTY, Ind. — Auctioneer Bob Tobias sold equipment and vehicles from the Joe Terry estate in Scott County, Ind., on April 27. Among the equipment auctioned was a 2013 Chevy 2500 HD 4x4, which went for $38,000.

A Massey-Ferguson 1749 tractor went for $32,000, and a 2000 GMC C6500 dump truck sold for $26,000. Two Case dozers – a 450C and a 455C – sold for $21,000 and $19,500, respectively.
