Indiana equipment, antique auction attracts diverse crowd
MONTPELIER, Ind. — Nearly 300 bid numbers were issued during a morning equipment, farm supply and antique auction on July 7 in northeast Blackford County.

A particular highlight of the sale included a 1965 John Deere diesel tractor that sold for $5,900. Several other John Deere implements sold during the auction, including a John Deere Model B tractor from 1938 that left the block at $1,500; a John Deere tractor from 1964 that sold for $3,900, a John Deere manure spreader that was purchased for $350 and even a John Deere pedal tractor that closed the block at $500.

Also during the sale, a vintage Coca-Cola lollypop sign sold for an astonishing $600 and a generator was purchased for $110. Other interesting auction items included a soft serve ice cream service machine for $1,000, two pairs of Red Wing work shoes for $70 and $80 and a fertilizer spray tank for $200.

The sale, conducted by Osborn Feed and Grain, took place from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
