Tractor sells for record high at Illinois auction</p><p> PARIS, Ill. — On Dec. 7, the Moss Auction Team closed the bid on a 1995 Case IH 7220 tractor at $70,000, setting a new record high according to auctioneer Matthew Moss.</p><p> The equipment auction that took place in Paris, Ill. featured numerous items of equipment and tillage tools from the farm family of Stan and Pat McIntosh.</p><p> “When we were auctioning off the 1995 Case IH 7220, the crowd really got excited when the bidding started to get into the mid $60,000,” said Moss. “It even brought tears to the eyes of the McIntosh family, because it was such an emotional event for them. After the gavel fell, the crowd applauded from the excitement generated from the bid calling.”</p><p> According to Moss, bidders from Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, Kentucky and Pennsylvania attended the auction. Other items of interest include: a 2001 Case IH 2366 combine that sold for $102,000, a 2003 Case IH 2206 36-inch-row corn head, a 1993 Case IH 1020 platform and carrier that left the block at $8,500 and a 1984 Chevy Kodiak tandem grain diesel grain truck for $22,000. Additionally, a 1959 Farmall 560 tractor sold for $4,000, a 1955 Farmall 400 tractor sold for $2,000 and a IH 490 disk (21 inch) sold for $2,000.
