BEDFORD, Ind. — Producers can brush up on plant development and crop nutrient deficiencies on Tuesday at the Feldun Purdue Ag Center Field Day, located three miles west of Bedford.

Sign-in begins at 8:30 a.m. EDT with workshops from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Lunch is provided. Topics and speakers include:

•Corn and soybean development and impacts of weather on plant growth – Bob Nielsen and Shaun Casteel, Purdue agronomists
•Fungicides and application timing to gain maximum benefit and prevent yield loss – Kiersten Wise, field crop pathologist
•Timely herbicide applications – Glenn Nice, Purdue weed specialist
•Is spraying necessary for some crop eaters? – Christian Krupke, Purdue entomologist
•Crop nutrient deficiencies – Jim Camberato, soil fertility specialist
The field day will conclude with a discussion on drift and will allow private pesticide applicators to receive credit toward their permits.

Private pesticide applicators seeking credit should bring their applicator card and $10.
