DEKALB, Ill. — The Northern Illinois Farm Show, set for Jan. 6-7 at the Northern Illinois University Convocation Center, is partnering for the first time with Kishwaukee College in nearby Malta.

More than 8,000 attendees are expected to attend the show, which features a multitude of informative programs developed by the University of Illinois Extension Services and local Farm Bureaus – located in the meeting room – as well as Kishwaukee in the media room on both days of the show. All seminars are complimentary for attendees.

Kishwaukee will begin its seminar schedule from 10-11:30 a.m. Jan. 6 with “Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Horticulture and Can Now Ask!” Horticulture instructor Rich Alde will answer all horticulture-related questions. Come with a list and leave with the know-how to make next year’s garden and landscaping spectacular.

Kishwaukee instructor Matt Girman will speak at the last seminar of the day, from 1:30-2:35 p.m., sharing the latest information on what’s new in the plant world – new annuals and perennials, in the seminar titled, “The Plant World, According to Matt.”

Tomorrow, aviation instructor Steve Durin will discuss his field in his seminar titled “The Sky’s the Limit!” from 9-10 a.m. Learn about the Aviation Flight Program and the many careers available within the aviation industry, from pilots to airport management.

“DPFs with DPT” will conclude the Kishwaukee College educational seminar schedule from 12:30-1:30 p.m. DPFs are Diesel Particulate Filters and DPT is the Diesel Power Technology Department at Kishwaukee College. Learn how diesel is getting even greener.

The Northern Illinois Farm Show is a convenient venue for producers in northern Illinois, southern Wisconsin and eastern Iowa to meet with agribusinesses under one roof, with two days of informative and educational seminars. This show will provide attendees with valuable information and resources critical to agriculture.
