| Indiana veterinarians honor BOAH director for service |

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Dr. Bret Marsh, Carmel, received honors from the Indiana Veterinary Medical Assoc. (IVMA) this month.
Dr. Marsh was presented the President’s Award by the IVMA. The President’s Award is given by the IVMA president and recognizes an Indiana veterinarian who has made exceptional contributions to the association during his or her term of office. This honor recognizes their contributions to organized veterinary medicine. Dr. Marsh is a 1984 graduate of the Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine. He currently works at the Indiana State Board of Animal Health as the state veterinarian.
The Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine recognized him as a Distinguished Alumnus in 1997. Dr. Marsh has been presented the Sagamore of the Wabash award by the governor. He is a past president of the IVMA and is currently treasurer of the American Veterinary Medical Association.
The award presentation took place on February 6, 2010, during the 126th annual meeting of the IVMA in Indianapolis. Dermatology, laser therapy, equine medicine, ophthalmology, small animal surgery, and large animal issues, along with many other topics, were on the scientific meeting agenda. The IVMA is the professional organization for veterinarians who care for Hoosier pets, farm animals, zoo animals, wildlife, and public heath. |
