Organic farming will be part of Becknology Days

ATLANTA, Ind. — This year Beck’s is hosting its first show-within-a-show highlighting organic farming during its annual Becknology Days Aug. 26-28.
On Friday, Aug. 27 the event will offer a day focused on organics. Rick Clark, a Hoosier agriculturalist will be the featured speaker. He uses non-GMO seeds, no-till farming, and a combination of crop rotation and cover crop diversity to restore soils and generate a higher profit. Clark is a recipient of the 2019 American Soybean Association’s Conservation Legacy Award.
Another highlight during the three-day event will be a look at the latest planter technologies and attachments.
In addition to hearing from an elite line-up of speakers, visitors will have the opportunity to hear from the Beck family, learn about the latest products from Great Harvest Organics, and take a deep dive into Beck’s portfolio of organic PFR® studies. PFR, short for Practical Farm Research, is Beck’s 100% unbiased agronomic research program that is designed to help farmers find new ways to better manage their farms and increase return on investment.
Show highlights include:
• Unlocking the Next Level of Profitability with Kyle Schnell. An Iowa native and sixth-generation farmer, Schnell will share information on weed control.
• Grain Merchandising — Perdue Chicken. Perdue representatives will be on hand to discuss the company’s history and commitment to organic, the importance of developing a domestic supply chain, and what the future holds for organic corn, soybean, and wheat growers.
• Organic Makes Sense with Rick Ritter. Ritter, of Flannagan State Bank, will discuss his insight on agricultural lending in organic farming.
Becknology Days is a family event that includes food, a corn maze and a petting zoo in addition to the lectures and field demonstrations.
