Women in Agribusiness award nominations are due July 15

The deadline – July 15 – is fast approaching to submit a nomination for the 2022 Women in Agribusiness Demeter Award of Excellence, which recognizes women who have achieved excellence in their field or demonstrated an outstanding contribution to the agribusiness industry. The award is presented by Women in Agribusiness (WIA), a HighQuest Partners business, and recipients will be recognized at the annual Women in Agribusiness Summit, which this year will be Sept. 26-28 in Dallas.
The WIA Demeter Award of Excellence, so named after Demeter, the goddess of the harvest from ancient Greek mythology, has been presented to notable achievers in the sector since 2013, spanning more than 25 recipients. In past years, recognition has come to women who have started women’s leadership groups, achieved the status as the first woman president of global agribusiness operations or led mission-critical P&L projects, as well as demonstrated innovation in developing new programs and launching gender diversity initiatives.
Professional achievements such as these are welcome in nominations for this year’s award, where up to three recipients will be chosen. Each recipient will be notified and invited to accept the award at the 2022 Women in Agribusiness Summit.
Criteria for nomination includes:
1 Woman with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the ag and/or food industry.
2. Woman who is a positive example to other women in the industry.
3. Woman who breaks down barriers and serves as a resource for others.
4. Woman who consistently exemplifies professionalism.
The nomination form is a simple, one-page submission, and is available on the Women in Agribusiness website. There is no limit to the number of entries, which will be accepted through July 15. Additionally, self-nominations are permissible.
