Link Fraley, of Rush County, died May 23. Link was known and will be well remembered for his work ethic, sense of humor and generosity. He could always be found wearing suspenders, plenty of keys hooked to his belt loop, shirt pockets full, and two shop rags – one dirty and one clean. He had a magnetic personality with plenty of jokes to share and advice if you asked. Link was born Sept. 29, 1945, to Jack and Edythe (Harris) Fraley in Greenville, Ohio. They started their family businesses in Modoc, Ind., and moved their family to Rushville in 1952. Link graduated from Rushville High School in 1963. He was a truck driver all his life and a long-time business owner in Rushville. He was part owner of Fraley & Schilling Trucking until 2016 and owned Fraley Truck & Implement until 2020, before passing the Massey Ferguson tradition on to his son. He also owned L & J Trucking and Greensburg Commercial Warehouses. Link spent his last years hauling all sorts of farm equipment with Foust Trucking across the country and continually added to his Massey tractor collection and farm toy collection. He was a member and deacon at First Baptist Church in Rushville and a member of Gideons International. He is survived by his wife, Shelle Fraley, whom he married Dec. 18, 2020, three children: Connie Seymour, of Terre Haute, Ind., Carrie Giletto (Tony), of College Station, Texas, and Bart Fraley (Britney), of Lewisville, Ind., five stepchildren: Nikki Earlywine, Becky Rosenberger, Steve Browning, Doug Browning and Jeff (Shelly) Browning. He will also be missed by his seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, nine step grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, previous wife, Glenda (Geise) Fraley, and two sisters, Debra Jenkins and Judy Hunter. Services were June 5, at Todd Funeral Centre & Crematory, Rushville. Link wished to be cremated and loved driving his semi, so he will go out in style with a convoy. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your favorite charity. |
