VASSAR, Mich. – On January 8, Albrecht Auction Service held one of its first auctions of the new year. The Tri-state Farm, Construction, and Municipality Equipment auction, part of a bi-weekly series of online equipment consignment sales, featured 111 lots available exclusively through Albrecht’s online bidding platform. Offerings spanned a dozen categories, including agricultural machinery, attachments, parts, heavy equipment, shop tools, trucks and trailers.
Two of the four tractors drew the highest bids. The top bid, $55,250, went to a 2014 John Deere 6125R with 2,841 hours. This Autotrac-ready tractor featured a PowerQuad transmission, 540/1000 PTO, three remotes, left-hand reverser, and buddy seat. The 320/85R28 front tires had 60 percent tread while the 320/90R42 rears still retained 95 percent. The next highest was $42,399 for a 1982 International 6588 2+2 with 4,628 hours. This freshly painted, second-owner tractor was in showroom condition.
The other two tractors came in significantly lower. Bidding went to $19,500 for a Case IH 9150 with 7,042 hours. The 4WD tractor had a dealer-replaced L10 Cummins engine, 12-speed powershift, three remotes, and LED lighting, plus new muffler and pivot pin. A good condition Ford 1600 diesel tractor, with 1,553 hours, a 3-point hitch, and PTO, rode off for just $2,450.
Two combines pulled strong five-figure sums. A bid of $37,500 won a 1998 Case IH 2344 2WD combine with 3,323 engine hours and 2,440 rotor hours. The second-owner machine was in good condition and equipped with a rock trap, chopper, LED lighting, and AG Leader yield monitor. Later, a 2004 John Deere 9760 STS 4WD combine, with 5,327 engine hours and 3,418 separator hours, wearing Firestone 20.8R42 fronts and Goodyear 28L-26 rears, landed $26,250.
Other agricultural machines also sold well. Those included a 2011 Case IH 4420 Patriot sprayer with 3,817 hours that hit $40,250. It featured a 120-foot boom with seven sections, pre-defined aim control, a 1,200-gallon tank, Ag Leader and Norac boom height control, 20-inch nozzle spacing, 3-inch side and front fill, and Michelin Spraybib VF380/90R46 tires with a Michelin 650/65R38 floater set. Bidding pushed a Dawn InRowL roller crimper to $25,000. Built in 2022 on a Case IH Cultivator toolbar, it applied up to 700 pounds of force per row with a pressure control valve. Close behind, a lightly used Case IH Tiger-Mate 200 field cultivator brought $21,100. It had a 46-foot working width, 7-inch shovels, 5-bar leveling spikes, a rear hitch with hydraulic hookup, and a rock basket in the tongue.
Numerous attachments and accessories were also offered. Among them was a new Wolverine Model SMB-12-72W sickle bar mower attachment with a Quick Attach skid steer mount ($1,500), a pair of Titan 10-inch by 54-inch rims for John Deere 6000/7000/8000 series tractors ($1,025), and a set of stainless steel 700-gallon saddle tanks designed for a Model 8235R between straddle duals at 22-inch rows ($975).
Heavy equipment included a New Holland Ford 575E backhoe, with 2,280 hours that bid to $20,500. The clean 4WD cab unit had recently rebuilt cylinders and features like a 24-inch trench bucket, 96-inch loader bucket, flip-over pallet forks, 4-speed shuttle shift transmission, Extendahoe, and cab heat. Two skid steers were presented. A 2018 Gehl R220, with 4,157 hours, 2-speed, and bucket/bar controls, sold absolute for $12,837. Later, a good-condition 2008 Case 440 Series 3, with a heated cab and 2-speed control, went for $9,900. A sole forklift, an operating-condition Heli FG30 LP gas model with 2,200-pound capacity, side shift, pneumatic tires, and steel tank, was grabbed for a modest bid of $4,750.
Among nine truck offerings, ranging from consumer vehicles to semis, was a well-maintained 2011 Ford F250 XL 4WD pickup with 132,000 miles, reaching $17,999. It featured a 6.7-liter Powerstroke diesel engine and automatic transmission. A 2008 Freightliner M2-106 tandem-axle box van truck with 484,047 miles reached $9,900. It had a diesel engine paired with an Allison transmission, a 24x96x84-inch box, powered liftgate, roll-up door, air ride suspension, and air brakes. Bidding reached $5,401 for a running 1990 International 4900 dump truck with unknown mileage. The clean rig, with a clear title, featured a DT466 diesel engine, 5-speed with 2-speed axle, twin-screw tandem, 19.5-foot box, and 11R22.5 tires.
Among the remaining offerings were some distinctive items. A 1996 Timberjack feller buncher, in good working condition with newer batteries, brought $18,750. A hydraulic-driven Haybuster rock picker used this spring, went for $12,350. And, a batch of 50 net-wrapped, 4-foot by 5-foot, dairy-quality hay bales was grabbed for just $975.
