Kentucky horse farm sells for $1.669M
OWENSBORO, Ky. — On Friday, April 23, Kurtz Auction & Realty Company sold 244 acres in Daviess County, Ky. The gently rolling horse farm featured a 10,000 square-foot home and numerous stables and an indoor arena. The property, approximately eight miles south of Owensboro, Ky., is surrounded by four board fencing, and paved drives and was the home of Kentucky Derby contender and Eclipse Award winner, Lawyer Ron.

Five of the fifty registered bidders purchased the six tracts of land. The main tract (tract 6), with the 10,000 square-foot home and 97.67 acres sold to a local bidder for $740,000. Tract 2, 98.213 acres, had improvements including a 21-stall stable, indoor riding arena, a 12 stall stable and a three bedroom caretaker’s quarters.  This tract sold for $600,000 and was purchased by a bidder from Tennessee.  Other tracts sold as listed below: Tract 1, $21,863 (8.39 acres); Tract 2, $600,000 (98.213 acres); Tract 3, $192,000 (15.19 acres); Tract 4, $57,876 (12.314 acres); Tract 5, $57,570 (12.249 acres); and Tract 6, $740,000 (97.673 acres).
