Plevna Implement to build new facility
KOKOMO, Ind. — Plevna Implement announced on Oct. 18 that it will significantly expand its facilities.
“We are thrilled to announce our plans to expand our Kokomo facility with a new state-of-the-art, 12,800 square-foot building,” said Bill Shrock, President of Plevna Implement. In April, Plevna was one of only three AGCO stores across the country to receive a 5-Star Dealership Rating.
The new building will include the dealership’s new showroom, parts distribution, handling area as well as sales and administration offices. The facility should be finished by March 2012.

Indiana hog processor plans expansion
DELPHI, Ind. (AP) — A hog processing facility in northern Indiana plans to expand after buying a 30-acre site from the county government.
The Carroll County commissioners on Nov. 7 approved a $525,000 deal with Indiana Packers Corp. for the property next to the company’s plant in Delphi. The company is the county’s largest employer, with about 1,700 workers.
Indiana Packers President Gary Jacobson told the Journal & Courier of Lafayette the land sale will allow the company to move ahead with expansion plans for its pork slaughtering operations. He says details will be announced later.
Commission President Patrick Clawson told WLFI-TV the deal will help make sure the company keeps growing. He expects the company to add at least 100 workers with the expansion.
POET Biorefining: Caro gets green award
CARO, Mich. — POET Biorefining – Caro has received the Michigan Agri-Business Assoc. 2011 Green Agri-Business Designation for incorporating environmental practices into its operations.
The award recognizes “outstanding efforts to protect Michigan’s natural resources, conserve energy and reduce their impact on the state’s water, land and air.” POET Biorefining – Caro uses a total water recovery system to eliminate wastewater discharge and a waste heat recovery system that recycles both heat and water. It uses the Load Toad DDGS loader to get more product onto each railcar and conducts a recycling program. |
