Free Fish Fry tickets offered to lucky Farm World readers
By MEGGIE I. FOSTER
Associate Editor

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — In cooperation with MidCountry Media, the parent company of Farm World Newspaper, the Purdue University Agricultural Alumni Assoc, will be giving away five sets of Purdue Fish Fry tickets to five lucky Farm World readers this month.
The Purdue Fish Fry will take place on Feb. 4 at the Marsh Blue Ribbon Pavilion at Indiana State Fairgrounds beginning at 11:30 a.m. EST. The featured special guest speaker this year will be farmer and philanthropist Howard G. Buffet, who will speak on the need for global food security.

The son of billionaire philanthropist Warren Buffet, Howard operates a 1,240-acre farm in central Illinois, manages a 400-acre, family-owned farm in eastern Nebraska, and oversees two research farms of the Howard G. Buffett Foundation - a 1,300-acre farm in Decatur, Ill., and a 9,200-acre operation in South Africa. Buffett started the foundation in 1999 with the primary mission of addressing global food security through sustainable agricultural production and improved resource management. Today, the foundation provides $40 million to $55 million annually in grant funding primarily in Africa, Latin America and the United States.

While tickets to the Fish Fry normally sell for $20 each or $200 for a table of 10, Farm World will be offering a chance to attend the event for free through this special and limited edition giveaway.
The free ticket contest will run from Jan. 18 until Jan. 30.

Winners will be announced and contacted individually on Feb. 1. Each ticket winner will receive a package containing two complimentary tickets to the Fish Fry on Feb. 4. Tickets will be held at the will call window at the Marsh Blue Ribbon Pavilion under the winners’ names on the day of the event.

In the event that we are unable to contact a ticket winner within 24 hours, we will then draw the next available name.
