Shaff Implement displays its wares in 2 Illinois locations
By DEBORAH BEHRENDS
Illinois Correspondent

URBANA, Ill. — Since 1940, Shaff Implement has been in the Urbana area to provide farmers with answers and solutions in the form of equipment.

Today, the brands it offers include AGCO (which includes AGCO tractors, Gleaner combines, Glencoe tillage tools, New Idea hay and waste handling equipment and White planters), New Holland (which includes DMI tillage equipment), Buhler Versatile tractors, Krause, Bush Hog, Westfield augers, Outback, Unverferth and M&W.
Owned by the Shaff family, General Manager Randy Osterbur said the original store is “in farm country” just outside of Urbana.
The second location, purchased in the late 1980s, is north of the city.

He said Shaff has displayed at the Midwest Ag Expo Illinois show “in some way since it began. We started out as part of the AGCO booth. We carry several different lines.”

He noted the show is a great way to connect with current and potential customers. “It’s a great way to see them all in one place,” he added.

This year, Osterbur said Shaff plans to display the new 500 series of Versatile four-wheel-drive tractors.

“They’ve been introduced in just the past few months. They have large cabs, new Tier 4-compliant engines and an all-new redesign,” he added, of the product line.

He said the business also plans to show the latest Salford and Krause Excelerator vertical tillage equipment, along with New Holland equipment and Geringhoff corn heads. Shaff also sells used equipment.
