SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Duane Friend of the University of Illinois Extension office in Springfield announced opportunities for producers to learn about soil and water management this winter.

The seminars offered at a variety of locations will cover nitrogen management, nutrient transport and water quality among other topics.

The Soil and Water Management Workshop is sponsored by University of Illinois Extension and will be offered Dec. 5 at the following extension offices: Sycamore, Pontiac, Oakwood and Hillsboro, and at the Evergreen Christian Church in Salem.

The workshops are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.

The seminar will be taught by an on-site instructor along with teleconference presentations. The program provides five continuing education units for Certified Crop Advisors.

Registration is $25 per person and is due by Nov. 28. The registration fee includes all materials and lunch.
