URBANA, Ill. — Issues central to corn, soybean and wheat producers will be discussed at three regional crop management workshops set to take place in Illinois in February, presented by University of Illinois (UOI) Extension experts.

The two-day workshops will address a variety of topics pertinent to producers in north, central and southern Illinois, and provide a forum for in-depth discussion and interaction, said Robert Bellm, an Extension crop systems educator who will lead the central Illinois workshop.

“Producers across the state will have an opportunity to meet with experts and other producers to discuss issues key to this year’s growing season,” said Bellm, whose central Illinois workshop is scheduled for Feb. 21-22 at the Route 66 Hotel & Conference Center in Springfield.

The southern Illinois workshop is scheduled for Feb. 7-8 at the Rend Lake Resort & Conference Center in Whittington; the northern Illinois workshop will be held Feb. 28 and March 1 at Kishwaukee College Convention Center in Malta.

The programs run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. the first day and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. the second day.

Each workshop will feature 24 concurrent sessions, of which participants will be able to attend six, as well as opening and closing general sessions. Continuing education units have been established for Certified Crop Advisors.

Advance registration, which is due one week before each workshop, is $100 per person. Late registration is available for an additional $25. The fee includes lunch, refreshments, and the cost of printed materials.
