ISDA announces new staff and personnel promotions
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — On May 1, Cary Aubrey was promoted to Program Manager for Bioenergy Development in the Indiana State Department of Agriculture (ISDA). Aubrey previously served as Biofuels Program Administrator and successfully worked with fuel retailers across the state to install E85 and B20 biofuel pumps. He was recently selected as one of the Governor’s 2007 Public Service Achievement Award recipients, and is a graduate of Western Kentucky University, in Agriculture.
Sara Davis joined ISDA in early May as the new program manager developing the Certified Livestock Producer Program, to recognize progressive livestock producers who go above and beyond regulated requirements. Davis brings livestock producer experience to her new role, having been raised on an Angus brood-cow operation. After earning an Animal Science degree from Purdue University, she managed farrow-to-finish and breeding-stock swine operations and later, with her husband, Duane, started Doubletree Swine, a purebred SPF Yorkshire breeding operation that sold breeding stock throughout the country and internationally.
On May 21, Jennifer Pinkston joined ISDA as an accountant in Operations. She came to ISDA from the State Auditor’s Office, where she worked in accounts/payable processing. Prior to that, she gained tax analysis experience from her work in the Individual Income Tax section of the Indiana Department of Revenue. The ISDA Communications Department also expanded, adding three new staff members.
In March, Jeannie Keating came on as communications manager. She has 15 years of public relations experience, most recently with the Visiting Nurse Service, Inc. of Indianapolis; she was part of the team that developed the “Bugbuster” flu and pneumonia vaccination program into the largest in the state. She is a graduate of Indiana University, in Telecommunications.
In April, Katie Swander was hired as one of the new communications specialists. Swander previously served as account representative at an Indianapolis-based PR agency and specializes in new media and web design. She is a 2004 graduate from Ball State University, in Public Relations.
On May 1, Keri Lawrence joined ISDA as a communications specialist. Lawrence was a 2007 Senate Minority Communications Intern at the Indiana State Senate. She is a 2006 graduate from Indiana Wesleyan University, in Communications. Danner appointed chairman of NGFA/GEAPS committee WASHINGTON, D.C. — Kevin Danner of Iowa has been appointed new chairman of the Safety, Health and Environmental Quality Committee of the National Grain and Feed Association (NGFA) and Grain Elevator and Processing Society (GEAPS).
Danner is corporate environmental, health and safety director for West Central Cooperative, headquartered in Ralston, Iowa. The Safety, Health and Environmental Quality Committee is one of several operations-oriented committees operated jointly by the NGFA and GEAPS as part of their strategic alliance.
Danner succeeds Mark Daniels of Minnesota, who has served with distinction as committee chair since 2004. Daniels, currently GEAPS International first vice president, is scheduled to become the organization’s president in February. Danner has been with West Central Cooperative since 1978, serving in multiple capacities. He is an 18-year member of GEAPS, associated with its Greater Iowa Chapter. He completed a two-year term as GEAPS International president and Board chairman in February 2007.
