Ohio Correspondent COLUMBUS, Ohio — Power Show Ohio, now entering its 38th season, isn’t just for commercial landscapers and professional construction workers. Surprisingly, this show – which will be Jan. 25-27 at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus – is attended by farmers more than any other group.
“Farmers make up roughly 64 percent of those attending,” said Power Show Ohio manager Dennis Alford.
“Back in 1971, the idea was to reach the farmers when they weren’t so busy, long before planting season, so they could have time to make that farm implement purchase for the upcoming planting season.”
According to Alford, the remainder of those attending use different types of equipment: People such as landscapers and commercial mowers.
“Believe me, we’ll have every brand of mower in existence on display those three days,” he said.
During this three-day show, live demonstrations include in-crop fertilization with liquid manure, safety with power tools, barn rehabilitations and a look at the grain and oilseed marketing outlook. Other lectures include no-till continuous corn and compaction, conserving and preserving land and soil, drainage for the home and yard and sprayer technology for soybean rust. Ohio Proud cooking demonstrations will also take place each day.
Power Show Ohio is sponsored by the members of the Ohio-Michigan Equipment Dealers Assoc, This year’s show will boast 300,000 square feet of exhibit space.
Showcasing a wide variety of power equipment, Power Show Ohio will be a perfect opportunity for full- and part-time farmers, landscapers, contractors, commercial cutters, municipalities and all equipment users to see and learn just about everything there is to know about power equipment.
The show will feature more than 250 exhibitors.
