AKRON, Ind. — Halderman Real Estate Services, Inc. recently sold at auction 160 acres in northern Indiana for a total of $625,000.
The property, which consisted of farmland and a rural residence with outbuildings on secluded land, is located one mile north of Akron, Ind. The land included 151.8 tillable acres. It was offered for sale on Feb. 6 in four tracts.
The land sold all in one to a local farmer. The 150 acres brought $555,000 or $3,700 per acre. The buildings plus 10 acres brought $70,000.
Cattle fetch high bids
WORTHINGTON, Ind. — Neal Cattle Co. had a bred cow and heifer sale Feb. 11 at the White River Valley Feeder Sale Barn in Worthington, Ind.
Forty-two bred cows were sold. The sale average was $1,400. Nine bred heifers were sold, also with a sale average of $1,400.
There were 32 open heifers sold at a sale average of $800.
