POLK, Ohio — The Wayne-Ashland Dairy Service Unit will be holding its second Dairy Summit prior to their annual Twilight tour on July 19 at Falling Star Farm, 626 State Route 89, Polk Ohio. The dairy summit will run from 3 to 5:30 p.m. This is the second year for the summit. Topics include climate’s impact on agriculture, trends and issues facing agriculture from representatives from the dairy equipment sector, feed companies, equipment manufacturers, agricultural financing and the organic sector. The twilight tour will begin at 6 p.m. and run until 9 p.m., with introductions of the Meyer family at 7:30 p.m. and discussion on the farm’s enterprises. The Meyer family operates a 500 cow dairy farm and hatchery, producing poultry for addition to flocks across the Midwest. The twilight tour also includes a trade show with over 30 vendors and thanks to the generous support from the sponsors, meal tickets will be available for a variety of food trucks. Milk, cheese, and ice cream will also be available. The event is free and open to the public. |
