Rushville FFA member is national agriscience finalist

RUSHVILLE, Ind. – Local FFA member, Jenna Lawler, was named top 10 in the nation in the area of food science. She is a member of the Rushville FFA Chapter and is very talented in this area of agriculture.
Lawler researched the difference in using duck eggs and chicken eggs in egg noodles. She tested the impact the different eggs had on the density, taste, elasticity and color of the noodles. She also conducted research on which type of noodle most people preferred.
Lawler had this to say about her award and experience: “I was extremely proud to achieve the honor of making the top 10 this year. Accomplishing this goal as a freshman on a challenging honors academic track while also attaining success in a wide array of FFA activities among other things, required me to grow in my ability to manage competing priorities and find balance in my life.”
To be a national finalist, Lawler had to conduct research, write a report, compete at the state level, and then compete against all 50 states in order to receive top 10. She recently had an interview to decide which place she will come in, and those results will be announced at the FFA National Convention on Oct. 27, 2022, at 6 p.m. If you are interested in watching her walk across the stage and receive her results, you can tune in at RFD-TV at 6 p.m. that day.
Rushville FFA has 116 members. The National FFA Organization is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success.
