MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Calling all hop enthusiasts, craft brewers and local farmers. Farm to Tap will host its second annual Tennessee Hops Week in June, with a stop in Memphis on June 13. This educational event will allow industry experts to share the challenges and opportunities facing this specialty crop, and also includes a panel discussion with local brewers and a tour of the hopyard and barley trials at Agricenter International. The event begins at 1 p.m. at Agricenter International in the Hospitality Suite, 105 S. Germantown Pkwy, Cordova, Tenn. 38018. “Tennessee Hops Week highlights the mission of Farm to Tap, bringing local ingredients to the forefront in Tennessee craft beer,” said Sharon Cheek, Tennessee Craft Brewers Guild executive director. Farm to Tap – a partnership between the Tennessee Craft Brewers Guild and the Tennessee Department of Agriculture – encourages the use of home-grown ingredients in Tennessee craft beer. The Guild is also working closely with the UT Extension Service and other agricultural interests to bring the state’s farmers and brewers together. Tennessee Hops Week Memphis is a free event open to all individuals passionate about hops, brewing and the agricultural industry.
