BLUFFTON, Ind. – An open heavyweight horse pull was held Sept. 21 in Bluffton, Ind. The event was held In conjunction with the Bluffton Free Street Fair, known as the oldest and largest street fair in the Indiana, dating back to 1898. Around 20 teams participated. These 2,300-pound draft horses worked as a team of two and pulled up to 8,500 pounds for first-place bragging rights. Horse pulling events are held in many states, which often have pulling associations to govern and promote the sport in their area. Glen and Jo Jo Russelburg, of Beaver Dam, Ky., are attempting to include many of these associations as well as the results of pulls on their website https://HorsePullResults.com.
