Elanco picks Indianapolis for new global headquarters |
INDIANAPOLIS — Elanco Animal Health, which has been associated with Greenfield, Ind., since the days it was a subsidiary of Eli Lilly and Co., announced last Friday that it would build a new world headquarters on the west side of Indianapolis. Elanco’s new site will be at the former GM stamping plant, just south of the Indianapolis Zoo. The GM stamping plant is on 91 acres and has stood vacant since 2011. Elanco’s Greenfield campus, built a decade ago will be vacated. |

KAFC lends more than $1.7 million for farmer assistance |
Frankfort, Ky. – The Kentucky Agricultural Finance Corporation (KAFC) recently approved more than $1.7 million in 12 agricultural loans to assist farming operations around the Bluegrass State. Topping the list of loans was the Beginning Farmer Loan Program (BFLP), which received $1,262,736 for seven operations across the state |

Michigan cheese, whey plant takes in first milk shipment |
ST JOHNS, Mich. – A new state of the art cheese and whey plant began operations late in October in St. Johns, Mich. According to an announcement from one of the plant’s investors, Ireland based Glanbia Nutritionals, the $470 million plant began receiving milk on Oct. 20 from local farmers, marking the first day of operations for the facility and beginning the commissioning phase. Ramping up operations at the plant, called MWC, will take place over the next eight months and will see the initial one million pounds of milk per day increase to its designed capacity of eight million pounds per day |

November milk prices mixed; cheddar volume highest ever |
