Refrigerator Pickles
Canning tips

Ingredients:
For a quick and savory jar of summer pickles, enjoy this recipe for Refrigerator Pickles, which was given to me by Elma Ryan of Stanton, Mich. 6 cups cucumber slices 1 cup thinly sliced onions 2 cups white sugar 1 cup white vinegar 1 tablespoon celery seed 1/2 teaspoon coarse salt

Instructions:
Mix the sugar, vinegar, celery seed and salt in a large bowl. Add the sliced cucumbers and onions. Place the pickles in a 2-quart jar and store them in the refrigerator. Let set for about 3 days to allow the flavor to set in the pickles. If the sugar isn’t completely dissolved, it will continue to dissolve after the pickles are finished and stored in the refrigerator.
