Your Wacky Mommy says to use an 8-by-8-inch baking pan or dish and to preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Simply mix together the ingredients from the flour through the chopped walnuts and spread them in your baking pan. Mix the brown sugar and cocoa together and sprinkle over the top of the batter.
Pour the hot water over the contents in the pan (donít stir) and bake for about 45 minutes. This recipe turns itself over while baking and the liquid becomes the sticky chocolate on the bottom of the cake. It works like the peach cobbler recipe I featured here a long time ago.
I think itís best served warm from the oven. You can top it with some whipped cream, or put a dip or two of your favorite ice cream on top or alongside to make a wonderful dessert for your Motherís Day celebration. It will make your day special even if you donít have a wacky mommy.
