Pizza Logs
Skinny Cooks

Ingredients:
1 pizza dough, tube type, from the refrigerator section of your market Shredded mozzarella cheese Grated parmesan cheese 1/2 teaspoon oregano 1/4 teaspoon basil 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt Pepperoni slices Italian sausage browned and crumbled Your favorite spaghetti sauce 1 tablespoon sugar

Instructions:
Simply roll out the dough and make a rectangle rather than a round pizza crust. Slice the dough into strips about 1-1/2 inches wide. Place these dough slices on a greased cookie sheet and bake at the heat recommended on the tube, but only bake them for 3-4 minutes, until they become stiff. Now heat oil in a skillet or deep fryer to 350 degrees and fry the stiff dough slices until they’re browned on each side. This will only take a minute or two. Drain the fried slices and pat them dry with a paper towel. Put the fried dough logs back on the cookie sheet, a nonstick type, and shake on the cheeses. Combine the oregano, basil and garlic salt and shake the mixture over the cheeses. Arrange the pepperoni slices and the crumbled brown sausage on top of the pizza logs. Put the cookie sheet with the logs under your broiler for a couple of minutes until the cheese melts. Heat the spaghetti sauce to which you’ve added the sugar and stir it together well. Use this as a dipping sauce for the pizza logs. If you’re serving this for teenagers, it’s a good idea to ask them to avoid double dipping. After all, you don’t want young folks catching hoof-and-mouth disease at your pizza log party. Of course you can also have them use a spoon or even a paint brush to spread the sauce on their pizza logs, then no double dipping will occur.
