DEPAUW, Ind. – On May 13, Beckort Auctions hosted a retirement equipment auction for the Goldman Farm. The online-only auction held 60 lots, including two John Deere tractors, a New Holland combine, a Kuhl hay rake, along with pieces of farm equipment including a Deere loader, assorted machinery, and shop tools. Lot 1, with the first of the two available tractors, received the auction’s highest sum of $16,500. The running-condition 1997 John Deere Model 6400, with 6,583 hours, was outfitted with an 85-hp diesel engine, 16-speed transmission, enclosed cab with working A/C, and 3-point hydraulics. On the rear were Firestone 18.4R38 tires; on the front, 11L-15s. Not surprisingly, the other tractor scored second place. The 1988 John Deere Model 2755 with an attached Deere 146 loader rang up $10,500. The running-condition tractor had 7,344 hours and was powered by an 88-hp diesel engine and a 16-speed transmission. Features included a roll bar, 3-point with Deere top link, and two sets of Firestone 18.4-30 rear and 11L-15 front tires. The loader included a joystick and bale spear. Unexpectedly, the New Holland twin-rotor combine only picked up $1,600. The 4x4 Model TR85 with 3,387 hours was shed-kept and equipped with a diesel engine, a New Holland six-row corn head, and had new parts including a starter and batteries. Available farm machinery included a John Deere Model 566 round hay baler with an 18k bale count. It sold for $8,200. The running-condition unit was last used in 2001 and was outfitted with a net wrap and rear kicker attachments, a John Deere monitor, and spare parts including belts, teeth, and chains. Bidding reached $5,400 on a Kuhn SR-110 10-wheel hay rake, with a center kicker and all teeth intact except on the center wheel. A John Deere Model 925 MoCo disc mower conditioner made it to $4,000. The six-head unit provided a 9-foot cut and featured rubber rolls, a manual swing, and 540 PTO. Numerous livestock feeders and waterers were available including a round bale feeder with an 8-foot gate that landed $260. A working-condition 7-foot Miraco Mirafount livestock waterer also sold for $260. Another waterer, a 34-inch Ritchie poly, hit $135. A nice collection of shop tools included a working-condition Ramco RS-90P horizontal/vertical metal band saw, bid to $490. Later, a 110/220-volt Northwood CT-38 15-inch wood planer with a 3-hp motor was picked up for $290. Two pneumatic nail guns – one a Senco Framepro 701XP and the other a Hitachi NV 50AP 2-inch coil nailer – sold for $110 and $95 respectively. Other interesting lots included a 1993 shop-built 20-foot by 8.5-foot three-axle gooseneck flatbed trailer. It rolled off for $550. A 24-foot hay elevator with a running ½-hp motor pulled a modest $165, while a pair of livestock electric fence controllers struck $130. Several pieces were acquired for under $50. Among them was a shop-built hydraulic-driven wood splitter grabbed for $34. A tidy $32 won a Homelite 4400 generator with a loose, untested 8-hp engine. A 19-foot by 68-inch bulk feed storage bin, in rough but serviceable condition, was hauled off for $24. For information on Beckort’s upcoming auctions, visit: www.beckortauctions.com |
