PARKER CITY, Ind. — On November 11, Wagner Auctioneering and Real Estate offered the lifetime collection of Darell Hazelbaker. A small but important portion, consisting of 37 lots of vintage tractors, mowers, trailers, and assorted vehicles, was offered via simulcast on HiBid. Additionally, assorted tools, Cub Cadet parts, scrap, vintage toys, and household items were offered face-to-face onsite. The stars of the simulcast portion - and available at the outset - were eight vintage tractors. Seven were classic Farmalls. One of them, a good-running 1954 Super MTA, received the auction’s highest bid of $6,750. The unit featured gold rear rubber, a narrow front, electric start, belt pulley, PTO, drawbar, and one hydraulic remote. Bidding went to $5,700 for a previously restored Farmall model W9. The good-running gas engine had been converted from hand crank to an electric start. Other specifics included a belt pulley, new rear rubber, power steering, drawbar, and PTO. Another restoration, a 1956 Farmall model 400 went for $4,250. It had a gas engine, wide front end, belt pulley, drawbar, and PTO. Four additional vintage Farmalls, of various models and conditions, sold from $1,200 to $2,500. The one available non-Farmall tractor was a Ford 800 in good running condition, with a 3-point PTO. It was snagged for $3,200. Also showcased were 18 mainly International Cub Cadet riding lawnmowers. Two different units landed $500: first came an International Cub Cadet model 782, with a Koehler twin-17 cast iron engine, hydrostatic drive, turf tires, rear Wheel Weights, but no deck; later came an International Cub Cadet model 682 with 2364 hours, a cast-block Kohler engine, rear wheel weights, but also lacking a deck. Prices for the remaining Cub Cadets ran from a scant $10 for a non-running Super LT1554 garden tractor with a Kohler Command 27 engine and hydrostatic drive, to $425 for a good-running model 102 with a Kohler gas engine, gear drive, turf tires, light kit, but no deck. Other riding mowers included a Simplicity lawn tractor in running condition, with a 12.5 HP Briggs Vanguard engine, and turf-type tires, but no deck selling for $75, to a non-running Craftsman riding mower with no deck that fetched a mere $2.50. With many of the mowers lacking their decks, two lots with Cub Cadet decks could have drawn interest. Yet, they sold modestly - both a 50-inch and a 44-inch deck went for just $5 each. Doing much better was the King Kutter 6-foot, rotary mower with a 3-point hitch that landed $425. The sole piece of construction equipment offered - a New Holland L325 skid steer - grabbed $5,000. The cosmetically rough but operating condition unit featured a Wisconsin gas engine, material bucket, and foot pedal controls. Three vehicles of various types were also available. For bidders wanting a general utility vehicle, there was a 1999 Chevrolet 2500 Silverado 4x4 pickup truck with 181,132 miles. The extended cab pickup was outfitted with a 6-liter V8 engine, alloy wheels, power windows, power door locks, third door, bucket front seats with console, sliding rear window, fifth wheel rails, and a receiver Hitch. It rolled off for $4,100. The hammer then went down at $2,800 for a 1951 International 1950s semi. It had a gas-powered inline 6-cylinder engine, 5-speed transmission with a 2-speed rear end, single axle, and hydraulic 5th wheel. And, for general transportation needs, there was a running 2007 Chevy Equinox with 197k miles that sold for $1,700. For those needing trailers, there were also three to choose from. A bid of $2,750 was offered for an 83-inch x 16-foot bumper-pull flatbed trailer with a 2-foot dovetail and ramps. A 59 ½-inch x 99-inch bumper-pull small landscape trailer with a 2-inch ball grabbed $350. A 16-foot bumper-pull livestock trailer, currently used for storage pulled slightly less at $325. Finally, for the bidder needing a vacation, there was a 1995 Dutchmen 270 Signature Series LTD 5th-wheel camper with one slide. It got snatched up for $1,500.
